It’s Official

Being in a relationship with her was nothing like he had ever experienced. It was like climbing on top of a mountain and watching the sunrise, a spectrum of colors along the horizon, the cool chill in the air, the feeling of warmth when it touches your face, like a mother that cradles her child with all the love and warmth in the world.

On the other hand, it was also like jumping headfirst into the abyss, a feeling of fear and exhilaration, adrenaline coursing through your veins, and just when you feel like all is lost, you get pulled back by the safety rope, she was that safety rope.

Officially he had not yet declared that they were in a ‘relationship’, and could you blame him? He never wanted it to end, and in his experience, labeling a relationship always ended. But she had a painful past too, a past that always made him wish he could protect her from.

She loved telling Ashley everything, and she would never feel the need to lie, they had a connection that was unnamed, like their own very safe ‘Zone’. Sometimes they would just have to look at each other and that would be enough, their own form of communication.

He knew how much she wanted a name for this relationship. For her, it meant the world, he was always afraid about labels, but all that feared evaporated when they went out for one special date.

A date that she had arranged herself. Everything she did was beautiful, so Ashley knew he was in for a pleasant experience.

It started off with a delicious breakfast of Bacon and Eggs, followed by a funny movie.

They laughed their asses off in the theatre, not because the movie was that funny, but because they were goofy together.

Ashley had the habit of making funny noises during any show, which made her snort like a piglet when she laughed. That was music to his ears, he would die for her laughter. He wanted time to freeze right there, but of course, there was more in-store.

After the show, they went to a pub and spoke for hours about life, work and everything in-between. While they were smoking, Ashley put his arms around her waist and gave her the softest kiss he could muster, he wanted her to know how delicate his love was. She tasted like strawberries and lip gloss, a taste that would make you wanting for more, he only regretfully pulled back as other people entered the smoke room.

They held hands and decided to leave, but the date was not over yet, she took him to a beautiful lake, albeit it had a lot of couples there, but it did not matter, they were alone in their own world, and as they sat and spoke and contemplated their life together, that’s when Ashley decided that it was official, she was his girlfriend, and as he asked her to be his girlfriend, the lights in the area went off, and fireworks adorned the sky in the background.

They kissed for the first time as boyfriend and girlfriend. A kiss that he would remember when he was ninety-nine.

The First Kiss

That first trip out was a catalyst to all the things to come. Ashley got more comfortable with her as she got more attached to him. But Ashley being Ashley was always concerned about the consequences of having an ‘official’ relationship at work. Plus he was traumatized by all the bad experiences he had had in the past.

He wasn’t good with women, he knew that, and he never wanted to let go of this girl, she was not just any girl, she was the love of his life.

One day, she took part in an event at work, and gosh she looked gorgeous that day. She wore a beautiful black dress that stopped just above her tighs, her flaming red hair only accentuating her fine figure. She had curves that could even bring a dead man back to life.
